Cogeneration (CHP)

Cogeneration, also known as combined heat and power (CHP), is the simultaneous production of electricity and useful heat, usually in the form of either hot water or steam, from one primary fuel, such as natural gas or diesel. The Cogeneration of power and steam by recycling waste dates back to nineteenth century, making the approach as old as commercial electricity. Instead of generating and transporting utilities from distantly remote sites, power companies located their plants nearby where customers needed them
